How much chemistry does the job need?

Why the brewery cycle uses CR, then HCR.
CR removes yeast, protein, fat, and organic film first. HCR follows with beer stone, mineral scale, and rust.
Hot-water pre-rinse
Flush with hot water at 140 to 180 °F to clear loose solids before chemical contact.
CR alkaline wash
About 10 to 12 L of CR per 100 gal hot water, circulate or jet 30 to 40 minutes. Dissolves yeast, protein, fat, biofilm, and beer-stone. Produces no CO₂, so no carbonate forms. Dump and hot-water rinse.
HCR mineral wash
Use about 8 to 10 L of HCR per 100 gal hot water and circulate for 30 minutes. HCR removes beer stone, calcium scale, and rust. Follow with the brewery's normal final rinse and sanitation check.
Final rinse and verify
Hot-water rinse and confirm the rinse runs back at pH 6.5 to 8.5 before returning the vessel to service.
